structural integration

Structural Integration

& Ida P. rolf

Structural integration is another term for Rolfing, a form of deep tissue bodywork. Dr. Ida P. Rolf, an American biochemist, developed the system as a way to hydrate and reorganize fascia, often referred to as connective tissue. Application of Dr. Rolf's approach invites habitual patterns of physical misalignment to find a 'new normal'. The strategy creates more support to a person's structure and, therefore, access to greater energy resources.
Ease of movement results from the enhanced relationship of each component to the whole. A Rolf 10 series systematically re-maps and awakens each body component using deep breathing, movement, slow and constant pressure. The outcome provides new alignment patterns in the body, making way for improved posture, reduced stress. Whether you are an elite athlete looking for an edge in performance or you have a limited range of motion due to scar tissue, Rolf's techniques initiate an overall sense of wellbeing.
